A CLE course is accredited in Illinois in one of two ways: through an individual (per course) application, or because it is offered by an Accredited Provider (whose courses are presumptively approved). Most providers who offer quality legal education fall into the first category; larger and/or more experienced providers who are approved by the Board.
Effective for attendance at Illinois MCLE accredited courses held July 1, 2019 and after, providers must submit to the MCLE Board the name, ARDC registration number, completion date, and actual hours earned. Instructions for entering the data in PCAM will be distributed in July, 2019. The first time providers will report attorney attendance will be August 5, 2019, and after. There will be two options to enter attorney information: (1) batch import where you import data from your online system; and (2) keystroke into PCAM the attorney ARDC number and completion date. Providers will no longer be required to report 0 (zero) attendance for courses that no Illinois attorney attended.
New effective August 5, 2019, all courses in PCAM will display a PCAM Course ID. The PCAM Course ID will be the key by which providers will batch import attendance. The provider’s own number will convert to an optional field as not all course providers have a course number. Attorney attendance fees will remain the same. The $25 attendance late fee will not be charged for the first six months. This six month delay allows providers an opportunity to put in place procedures to report timely attorney attendance.
