Is there a cap on the number of MCLE reporting periods an attorney must address when reinstating to the master roll after removal for MCLE noncompliance?

Supreme Court Rule(s) cited in this FAQ: Rule 796

Under Illinois Supreme Court Rule 796(h), the Court has capped the number of credits required and reinstatement fees due to the last three reporting periods for which the attorney is removed.

If you were removed for more than three reporting periods, you do not need to complete credits or pay reinstatement fees for reporting periods that are marked “Cap Applied.”
