Does the MCLE Board have automatic reciprocity with other states that have comparable MCLE requirements?

Supreme Court Rule(s) cited in this FAQ: Rule 795 .

No. Another state's accreditation does not confer automatic recognition as Illinois CLE credit. A course is not eligible for Illinois credit unless its provider has accredited the course for Illinois CLE credit or the attorney applies to claim Illinois CLE credit for a qualifying live out-of-state or live technology course. (Rule 795(c)(5)).

When an attorney isn't certain if a course is accredited, the attorney should contact the course provider and ask if the course has been or will be submitted for Illinois accreditation. Please note the established deadlines and late fees for a provider to apply after the course start date.
