Can a moderator at an approved CLE course earn teaching credit? What if the moderator is also a speaker?
While the moderator can play an important role in facilitating course progression, that role does not qualify as teaching. For that reason, a moderator does not earn teaching credit but is eligible to earn attendance credit for the course.
Exception: If a moderator is an active and substantive contributor to a panel presentation, including being identified as a “moderator/panelist” in the timed agenda, he/she is eligible for panelist teaching time. For a moderator/panelist, teaching time is calculated as a panelist, and the teaching time is divided between all panelists, including the moderator/panelist.
