Fee Schedule

There are two categories of course providers under the MCLE Rules and the Court-issued Fee Schedule:

  • Accredited Provider. This is an annual accreditation.
  • Per course/individual course provider (also known as non-Accredited Provider). The provider applies for accreditation for each individual course.

A. NEW! Effective July 1, 2015 - Annual Fee for Accredited Providers

Annual fees for unlimited course accreditation: accredits all CLE-qualifying courses presented by the provider in any location (regardless of Illinois attorneys' attendance) and requires the provider to enter ALL courses into the Board's online provider accreditation management system ("PCAM").


1. Annual Fee


a. Certain categories of CLE Providers listed below:


Bar Associations with equal to or greater than 50% Illinois licensed attorney membership $300.00
Professional Organizations with equal to or greater than 50% Illinois licensed attorney membership $300.00
Government entities - defined as federal, state, or local units of government $300.00
Nonprofits offering courses or activities designed to train lawyers who have agreed to provide pro bono services $300.00
Lawyers' Assistance Program $300.00

b. All other CLE providers listed below:


Bar Associations with less than 50% Illinois licensed attorney membership $2,000.00
Professional Organizations with less than 50% Illinois licensed attorney membership $2,000.00
All other CLE Providers $3,000.00

2. Attendance Fees:


Attendance fee per hour for each attorney issued Illinois credit by providers in category A.1.a. $0.00
Attendance fee per hour for each attorney issued Illinois credit by providers in category A.1.b. $0.75

3. Provider Late Fees: (these late fees apply to all courses, including those with zero (0) attendance):


Course entry late fee: Each course application entered in the Board's online application system after the course start date. $25.00
Attendance late fee: Each course in which attendance data is entered or paid for after the last day of the month following the month in which the attorney completed the course. $25.00

4. Administrative Fee for Data Changes in PCAM:


Administrative fee for each request to change course data in PCAM: (1) course date changes (limit one date change request per course if requested on or before course start date); (2) course withdrawal requests; (3) attendance number adjustments; (4) modifying delivery methods to any course entered in PCAM; and (5) modifying approved delivery methods at any time other than during annual renewal (Accredited CLE Providers). $25.00

5. Appeal Fee


Fee to appeal denial of Accredited CLE Provider application or decision to terminate Accredited CLE Provider status (does not include any fees that may result after the decision to appeal). $200.00
B. NEW! Effective July 1, 2015 - Individual Course Application Fees

Fees for Per Course Providers Submitting Individual Applications to Accredit Individual Courses and Activities


1. Application Fee


a. Certain categories of CLE providers listed below:


Bar Associations with equal to or greater than 50% Illinois licensed attorney membership $50.00
Professional Organizations with equal to or greater than 50% Illinois licensed attorney membership $50.00
Government entities - defined as federal, state, or local units of government $50.00
Nonprofits offering courses or activities designed to train lawyers who have agreed to provide pro bono services $50.00
Lawyers' Assistance Program $50.00

b. All other CLE providers listed below:


Bar Associations with less than 50% Illinois licensed attorney membership $50.00
Professional Organizations with less than 50% Illinois licensed attorney membership $50.00
All other CLE Providers $50.00

2. Attendance Fees:


Attendance fee per hour for each attorney issued Illinois credit by providers in category B.1.a. $0.00
Attendance fee per hour for each attorney issued Illinois credit by providers in category B.1.b. $0.75

3. Provider Late Fees: (these late fees apply to all courses, including those with zero (0) attendance):


Course late fee: Each application submitted in the Board's online application system after the course start date and until 30 calendar days after the course start date. $125.00
Additional 30-day course late fee: Each application submitted in the Board's online application system more than 30 calendar days after the course start date but no later than two years from the course start date. (Added to $125.00 course late fee.) $500.00
Attendance late fee: Each course in which attendance data is entered or paid for after the last day of the month following the month in which the attorney completed the course. (Added to the $125.00 and $500.00 course late fees avove, if those deadlines were also missed.) $25.00

4. Administrative Fee for Data Changes in PCAM:


Administrative fee for each request to change course data in PCAM: (1) course date changes (limit one date change request per course if requested on or before course start date); (2) course withdrawal requests; (3) attendance number adjustments; and (4) modifying delivery methods to any course entered in PCAM. $25.00

5. Appeal Fee


Fee to appeal denial of individual course application. (Does not include any fees that may result after the decision to appeal.) $100.00

Annual fee for Accredited Providers based on total number of courses eligible for CLE credit.


1. Certain categories of Accredited Providers only if they do not charge attorneys (directly or indirectly) for attending any CLE programs during the annual accreditation period:


Effective for all accreditation periods beginning January 1, 2012 and thereafter.


Bar associations, professional organizations and government entities -- 6 or fewer programs per year $100.00
Bar associations, professional organizations and government entities – 7 or more programs per year $300.00
Nonprofits offering courses or activities only to train volunteers providing pro bono services $200.00
Lawyers Assistance Program $200.00

2. All other Accredited Providers only if they do not charge attorneys (directly or indirectly) for attending any CLE programs during the annual accreditation period:


Effective for all accreditation periods beginning January 1, 2012 and thereafter.


All other entities -- 6 or fewer programs per year $300.00
7 to 10 programs per year $500.00
11 to 24 programs per year $1,200.00
25 to 50 programs per year $2,500.00
More than 50 programs per year $4,000.00

3. All Accredited Providers not within the two previous categories who charge attorneys for attending any CLE programs during the annual accreditation period:


Effective for all accreditation periods beginning January 1, 2012 and thereafter


a. All other Accredited Providers not within the previous categories who charge attorneys for attending any CLE programs during the accreditation period:


6 or fewer programs per year $300.00
7 to 10 programs per year $1,000.00
11 to 24 programs per year $2,000.00
25 to 50 programs per year $3,500.00
More than 50 programs per year $6,000.00

b. Additional fee for each program with paid attendees:


Fee per hour/per attorney requesting Illinois credit $1.00
B. Ending June 30, 2015 - Per course/individual Course Providers (non-Accredited Providers)

1. Certain categories of CLE providers listed below only if they do not charge attorneys for attending the program:


Bar associations, professional organizations and government entities $30.00
Nonprofits offering courses or activities only to train volunteers providing pro bono services $20.00
Lawyers Assistance Program $20.00

2. All other providers applying to accredit an individual course or activity:


Each accredited course $50.00
Additional fee for each program with paid attendees
(fee per hour/per attorney requesting Illinois credit)
$1.00

3. Provider late fees (please note that effective April 1, 2008 a late fee will be charged for individual course applications submitted on or after the course date):
