Approved Courses and Providers

Top FAQs

How many CLE credits does the MCLE Board have on file for me?

May I apply to claim CLE credit for attending an individual course?

What standards are required for CLE courses and activities?

An attorney may claim Illinois MCLE credit by attending a CLE course if the course is either:

  1. accredited as an individual course; or
  2. offered by an Accredited CLE Provider who issues Illinois MCLE credit for the course.

If a course is not in either of these two categories, please contact the provider to determine if the provider has applied, or plans to apply, to the Illinois MCLE Board for accreditation.

Also, some providers ask that their courses be omitted from the lists of individually approved courses. So, if you do not find a course listed, ask the provider if it made that request and request that they confirm that fact in writing to you.

1. Individual Approved Courses

Some providers chose to accredit one course at a time. Click the links below to view lists of individually approved courses. The courses are listed by year and, within each year, by provider name. Many attorneys prefer that the course lists use this organization so that all courses accredited by a particular course provider can be viewed together.

2. Accredited CLE Providers

An Accredited CLE Provider's CLE courses and activities are presumptively approved by the MCLE Board for the provider's selected accreditation period and approved delivery methods.

Some providers have allowed the Board to post links to their web sites so that attorneys may contact the provider directly for information about their courses.  Other providers, as indicated on the list, offer courses in-house or by special invitation only, therefore, links to their web sites are not provided.

If you have already attended a course or are interested in attending a course and the course is not among the individually approved courses and the provider is not on the list of Accredited CLE Providers, please contact the provider directly to determine if the provider has applied, or plans to apply, to the Illinois MCLE Board for accreditation. Some providers have requested that their courses be omitted from the lists of individual approved courses.
